JOB SUMMARY
This position assists the Director of Business Operations by providing specialized fiscal analysis and operational support. Responsibilities include data analysis, system review, technical support, financial reporting, and process review and redesign to optimize use of Business Operations applications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Consults with Accounting, Budget, Human Resources, Payroll, Purchasing, and Technology staff members regarding the effective and efficient use of the district’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software application, and other Business Operations software applications.
- Acts as project manager for in-house system testing efforts, application deployments, district required updates, and review of external technology product purchases for Business Operations; performs and manages acceptance testing of software rollouts and updates in the test and production environments; coordinates with vendors and district staff.
- Researches, compiles, calculates, and analyzes data from multiple sources. Produces standardized and ad hoc reports in support of business operations.
- Uses technology, databases, and software to access, organize, display, automate, present, and submit information to state and federal agencies, Business Operations staff, building and district administrators, and other internal and external clients.
- Analyzes, assesses, and documents current business processes; identifies and recommends areas for improvement based on analysis; leads process redesign implementations to improve operational efficiency.
- Uses SQL to design and develop custom reports and data extractions which require a detailed understanding of database structures and tables; performs data analysis.
- Troubleshoots Business Operations application and other software program issues; collects user descriptions of issues; tests and analyzes to determine root cause; if necessary, works with other analysts and Technology Department staff to resolve.
- Provides technical assistance to Business Operations staff on a variety of tasks.
- Assists with the budget process. Coordinates the data entry, processing, and posting of state and district budget documents.
- Responsible for ERP security assignments. Reviews roles within the ERP system to ensure compliance with separation of duties. Works with ERP vendors and other analysts to ensure proper assignment of ERP security roles.
- Performs related duties consistent with the job description and employee assignment.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Reports to the Director of Business Operations.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Required to meet inflexible deadlines; substantial visual concentration; occasional prolonged exposure to computer display terminal; dexterity and precision in operating a computer.
Affiliation: Non-Represented Professional Technical (NNRAP-PT)
Salary Level: Level II
Contract: 260 days per year/8 hours per day
FLSA: Exempt

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor or Master of Arts or Science degree in Information Management, Business, or a related field and experience in project management, and/or working with complex relational databases. Understanding of budget, accounting, payroll and human resources concepts and systems is desired.

Ability to apply knowledge of operational analysis, business process redesign and project management techniques; ability to extract, display, analyze, and verify data using a variety of tools; ability to apply knowledge of relational databases and ability to write/read SQL; ability to effectively use various report-writing tools; ability to quickly learn new applications; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; strong interpersonal and human relations skills including listening and eliciting information; strong skills in problem resolution; ability to exercise independent judgment in organizing work and managing priorities to meet deadlines; ability to work in an atmosphere where interruptions occur frequently and priorities are often modified; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; ability to attend to detail, accuracy and follow-through on assigned projects and tasks; ability to work effectively with others in a team setting; ability to write, edit, and format documents utilizing different software programs; ability and willingness to upgrade skills to maintain the highest level of efficiency and high quality work; ability to handle confidential matters and information in a professional manner.
