- Assistant News Director/Reporter
Description
The Assistant News Director/Reporter supports KLCC’s mission by helping manage daily news production, coordinating with reporters, and ensuring accuracy, fairness, and editorial excellence across KLCC’s radio and digital platforms. This position assists the News Director with story assignments, editing, workflow organization, and the development of emerging reporters.
The Assistant News Director/Reporter also produces original reporting, either on-air or digital, and may occasionally anchor newscasts, contribute to long-form programming, or participate in community engagement events.
This role requires sound editorial judgment, strong writing and editing skills, a collaborative spirit, and a commitment to maintaining KLCC’s high ethical and journalistic standards.
Requirements
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
A combination of education and experience may be viewed as equivalent to satisfy this qualification.
Required Experience:
Minimum three (3) years of professional journalism experience as a reporter, editor, writer, or producer.
