POSITION TITLE: Academy Director
POSITION DUTIES: Support the design, implementation, and management of One Knoxville SC’s player development pathway, ensuring a clear connection between the One Knoxville Youth Club and the One Knoxville SC professional team. Develop the club’s academy structure, standards, and curriculum to ensure consistent technical, tactical, physical, and psychological development of players. Maintain a direct bridge between the One Knoxville Youth Club and the professional team, including talent identification, player tracking, and integration pathways. Recruit and mentor academy coaching staff to uphold the club’s philosophy and standards. Collaborate with the professional team’s technical staff to ensure aligned methodologies and smooth transitions for high-potential players. Assist with academy operations including budgeting, staffing, scheduling, and compliance with USL and U.S. Soccer standards. Represent the club within regional and national youth development networks to enhance talent pipelines and partnerships. Build a culture of excellence, accountability, and community pride within the academy.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Organizational Leadership, Sports Management, or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. 2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: Work with the U.S. youth soccer ecosystem and player development models to identify, recruit, and develop young players. Execute multi-phase development programs and associated budgets to ensure sustainable program growth and innovation. Utilize technical leadership by working with professional teams to develop pipelines between academy and professional teams. Apply specialized experience in youth academy operations, including developing coaching frameworks, coordinating seasonal training and competition schedules, and implementing structured talent identification protocols. Support coaching staff with tactical analysis, feedback, and performance reviews while utilizing modern tools including Veo, Wyscout, and HUDL. Conduct leadership workshops and mentor academy and young professional players on career, performance, and personal growth. Coordinate season scheduling and ensure compliance with the league regulations, player registration, and logistics. 20% of domestic travel required.
